Gallo Nero in Heidelberg

A solid Italian with a super nice boss. Had a large mixed salad with good dressing and no scrap in it. Plus Arabiata (I wanted extra hot and got extra hot). The wine was good too. I can only recommend this shop!

Very economical food for the prices. For a fish dish of 32 euros, it looked really poor, just a piece of salmon and a small piece of sea bass fish plus a few grilled vegetables (the menu included combinations of fine fish ?). Really ... fooling around! Staff quick and nice, but very little attention

Food wise is nothing special.. Neither are the drinks or the wine. But it's not bad. Everything is correct. This being said I wanna really highlight that the people that work there are really nice and polite. The service is fast and the prices are very accessible. I recommend it for an improvised lunch or dinner in a very agréable environment.

Good but a bit high prices for the pizzas

An excellent choice for dinner! The service as well as the ambience were first class. The lamb carrè was seasoned and fried excellently and the vegetables cooked perfectly, still a bit firm to the bite. Like another guest, I cannot confirm that the portions are too small. For me it was more than enough. Gladly again, an absolute recommendation!

Completely incompetent service. Has ruined everything for us. Big disappointment. Price-performance ratio is not right here. Never again!

Yesterday evening I celebrated my birthday with 8 other guests at the Gallo Nero in Heidelberg. I had already made a reservation a few days earlier and signed up for dinner. The conclusion of the evening: - Our aperitifs were inedible and unfortunately you can no longer enjoy a plastic straw - small portions that cannot be full - The quality and price of food and drinks are in no way related and, unfortunately, are clearly not worth the money - Unfriendly, incompetent service, which for a restaurant of the price range was simply completely inappropriate and really stunned us - Unfortunately, no soap on the toilet is simply not excusable for me during Corona times Unfortunately, I can't award more than one star, because the great atmosphere couldn't tear it out either. A real disappointment, I can only urgently advise against going to the restaurant and / or hosting a festive event there, what a shame!

The food was nice, not extra-ordinary. There is one thing I'm not amused about. The tip is already included in the bill. Since this is not mentioned on the menu, and since this is Heidelberg, I didn't notice it. So I gave a tip twice ?

Were twice in this restaurant during our vacation. Both times we got the "cat table" (despite proper evening clothes), which was the only one uncovered, although there were still enough other places available. The service could have been a little friendlier. But the food was very good.

Nice restaurant, the only lady in the service was really very friendly, the gentlemen could sometimes improve a bit. The food was excellent, you can sit in the restaurant as well as outside in the garden.

Were there as a group, the service was poor, plates were not cleared for ages, wine was not refilled, zucchini was served instead of aubergine, rice more than al dente and finally wrong invoice ...

I don't like the less attentive service and the arms that reach over the table in front of my head. Especially in Corona times there should be enough space to take a step around the table instead of reaching across. The food was good but unfortunately it cannot make up for the poor service.

After our vacation on Lake Maggiore we returned on our way back and the food was excellent. A little piece of Italy in Heidelberg. The service was very friendly. Really recommendable!

The food was good, but the stuff was quite mean to us: we were standing at the front door and all two managers saw us but were ignoring even though there were almost no guests at that time, no please, no thank you - waiter even rejected to take our tip because he considered it to be too low...

Great italian food! Great service. We've been twice in Heidelberg and although second time we did not use NH, the hotel just near Gallo Nero, we still took a taxi and visit the restaurant twice. This means something!

Agree with previous reviews about poor rude service. This place is next to hotel, so it seems like they don’t care because mostly customers are tourists. The food is below average. There is a great authentic Italian restaurant only in 5 min walk. Don’t waist your time here...

If you are a tourist and not knowing what to eat, NEVER ever try this one, this is horrible choice! Why? Here is the story : As a tourist, I was checking on google map, wandering about what to eat and finally arrived here. I ordered a pizza piccante tonight and it was nothing close to Italian pizza. And as I was afraid that I was being ignorant to judge the pizza; I had asked my Italian friends : how he thinks about this pizza , and well unfortunately, he answered silently ," I had no clues what is this." There are two female waitresses, both are Italian (one taller,another smaller ). There is not even a single smile with the taller one while serving ; whereas the smaller was very friendly and welcoming , which is the only good things in this restaurant. I will never come to this restaurant again. 說中文的朋友，如果你是遊客不知道該吃什麼，正在用Google map找餐廳，千萬不要去這間餐廳，完全不義大利
